Dear Class of 2021,
Being away from home for the first time can be unnerving, and the first year of college can be extremely overwhelming. Although Rhodes is a small school, because I had come from a high school class of fifty, I felt as if I were the smallest fish in the pond. However, through participating in recruitment, I was able to meet strong, intelligent and encouraging young women, whom all of a sudden, made the pond that once felt so big feel a bit smaller.
Going through the recruitment process was the best decision I ever made, hands down, and I don't say that about many things. Participating in recruitment allowed me to meet great women in every house on the row, while also enabling me to connect with the young women who I now have the honor of calling my sisters. No matter what kind of day, or week, I am having, I know that I will always have a sister to support me through the tough times, love me unconditionally when I'm feeling low, and make my life brighter by just being in it.
I hope that you consider participating in this process as the link to register closes soon--and I hope
that if you do go through recruitment, that you find the place that makes your pond feel a little smaller.
